News Updates
City Arts is now offering Street Arts and Chimes workshops and packages.
At City Arts, we have extensive experience in creating incredible festival experiences, placing young people and members of the community at centre stage.
We are now offering packages including dance, music & rhythm, costume & mask making, circus skills and storytelling, fusing these together to create carnival and spectacle. We work with highly skilled professional artists, creating workshops and events that have energy and impact.
We offer a range of fantastic packages to make your festival or event memorable from drop-in workshops on the day itself, to the delivery of a whole community and schools programme to create a showpiecefor your festival or event.
One of our highlights is creating a three metre high mechanised and fully costumed structure which can be mastered by a local person, who can then lead a procession of dancers and drummers - a festival highlight. This structure can be costumed to represent any character you wish - from a beautiful Goddess to a Green Man....
We can also bring our beautiful Star Child puppet, who can inspire wonder and joy as she travels around the festival site looking to make friends and hear stories. Sometimes she can travel with a story teller who will help members of the public to share their stories and memories, other times with musicians and dancers to support her celebration.
We have also received funding from the Foundation for Sports and the Arts to create a massive set of chimes.
Working with the Dragons Den Winners drumming group Bass Tone Slap (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/dragonsden/entrepreneurs/richardenion.shtml) and the Engineering Faculty at Nottingham University we have created a set of 3 metre chimes, which make the most incredible resonant sound.
